Benny Mehta
Mr. Mehta is a Managing Member of Clean N’ Brite since inception in early 2004.
Mr. Mehta was awarded a Certified Garment Care Professional certification from International Fabricare Institute (“IFI”) awarded in 2006. This certification is awarded only to the members of IFI, who have successfully completed all the other three certifications from IFI, namely, Certified Professional Drycleaner, Certified Professional Wetcleaner and Certified Environmental Drycleaner, which were awarded during 2005 and 2006. Mr. Mehta was also awarded a carpet cleaning certification from IICRC awarded during 2006.
Mr. Mehta also holds public accounting license from AICPA under the designation of CPA from 1995 and ICAI in India from 1992. Though not currently practicing public accounting, he believes that accounting, finance and economic educational background has helped tremendously in laying a solid foundation for success.
Prior to venturing into dry cleaning and laundromat business, Mr. Mehta was employed with Eisner, LLP. from Jan. 2000 through Apr. 2004. Eisner, LLP currently is a NYC based mid-size accounting firm with 100 partners and a professional staff of approx. 600. Mr. Mehta resigned from the employment as an Audit Manager to start the business. During his employment, Mr. Mehta was involved in managing multiple concurrent audit assignments of mid-sized to large privately and publicly held companies in the North Eastern USA.
Coming from a humble background from India in 1993 to the shores of USA, Mr. Mehta strongly believes in adapting change and taking on challenges to excel in his field of choice but at the same time not compromising on family values. Mr. Mehta resides in Harrisonburg and his family consists of his wife of 26 years Ms. Jagu Mehta, (also a CPA and CA from India) and have raised their children in Harrisonburg.
Mr. Mehta has devoted time to the Parent Advisory Council of the Gifted Kids Program of the Harrisonburg City Schools. Mr. Mehta also served on the Board of Trustees of the Mahatma Gandhi Center for Global Non-Violence of the James Madison University in Harrisonburg. Mr. Mehta also served on the committee of MACLA, a regional association of IFI representing Dry Cleaners in the states of VA, WV, MD and Washington DC during 2005.
